I don't think they're talking about the rapture, they're actually saying "Armageddon will come after the last one of us died" - this is similar to the promise in the pre-1990's that all 144,000 would have to die first before Armageddon, then it became noo light that the 144,000 weren't yet fully collected but that it wouldn't really matter whether or not they were alive (people were basically "slowing down" until the old bread-eater in the hall bit the dust).

What is Causing This Sudden Increase in Crime / Racial Tension???
by RubaDub inyes, there has been crime as long as we can remember.
under 8 years of obama, there was crime.
under 8 years of bush the younger, there was crime.

It's fairly straight forward. When did the tensions start?
Obama's Beer Summit - a Harvard black professor is arrested by a white police officer because the professor tried to break into his own house and subsequently lashed out at the police that were called. He claimed this was every day racism (which wasn't supported by any stats or facts).
A few other issues later, where everyone that opposed Obama was called a racist.
Trayvon Martin, later ruled by a judge and jury to be a criminal that assaulted a Hispanic neighborhood watchman and got shot in the altercation, Obama told them "Trayvon could've been my son".
Police got shot by a (black) sniper in an ambush, Obama delivered the eulogy and instead of condemning the violence, he expressed "the need to understand the grievances of African-Americans who’ve protested racial bias"
That's when relations between blacks, police and whites started to decay rapidly. Many more occurrences where Obama should've called for peace and reflection, and condemn gross criminals (Michael Brown comes to mind) and instead he called for hatred, divisiveness and outright race wars.

I was born and raised in Europe, moved to the US and stayed. In general the world still thinks highly of the US, regardless of the media, very few people that live in lesser countries don't want to move here, they don't want to move to Germany or the UK, they want to move to the US.
It's fairly simple, freedom is guaranteed. Even if you have a poor president (eg. Obama-Biden) that is hell bent on taking as much as they can, individual states and your first and second amendments guarantee that those things don't last very long.
I've now lived halfway through Bush, Obama and halfway through Trump in the US, I still don't want to move back, I've made more money than my parents can even dream of (they still translate their money to pre-Euro currency), I'm a millionaire to them, they've worked their butts off till 65 and still work to date to keep up with their tax and medical bills (there is no Medicare or Medicaid or Social Security for poor people in Europe, free healthcare does not exist in Europe). They make what the US would qualify as barely above minimum wage after taxes and a mortgage, their blue collar counterparts here drive F150's and have large houses which they paid off.
Only in the US can you be your own person and make money, even if some of those decisions lead to bad outcomes, at least you know you have yourself to blame. But speaking from personal experience, you can always get back on top. Try that in the EU.

Praying before the food has historical reasons. Not too long ago, we didn't have that much food, most people thanked their deity because finding food was a rarity so if you did, and you had prayed before, praying again must bring more food (it's positive reinforcement). Same for praying at night, if you prayed at night and you survived the night, you should do more of it if you want to survive more nights.
Animals do the same thing. Not saying that religion has no effect or isn't needed, but many religious practices we have inherited from simply surviving, because before between 50 and 200 years ago we didn't survive very well, and positively reinforced behaviors evolved alongside us.

Noah's Ark : A structure that could never have been built in Noah's day
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe ark encounter located in kentucky (opened in 2016) is a large representation of noah's ark based on the genesis flood narrative contained in the bible.
it is 510 feet (155 m) long, 85 feet (26 m) wide, and 51 feet (16 m) high.. .
genesis 6: 14 so make yourself an ark of cypress[c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

Pyramids are possible, we have proof that they are. The ark, we have no proof of any structure that large and it would have been preserved and talked about in contemporary history until it was totally rotted away. If anything something that immense, would be like the pyramids, revered, imitated and documented at least until the Greeks/Romans.
Same goes for the Tower of Babel soon after, if they were halfway done as the Bible says and then suddenly dispersed, where are the ruins? There is more "evidence" of King David or King Solomon (which also never existed in contemporary history and retconned a local warlord into Jewish lore) than the ark.
Besides the obvious engineering issues, why did God need a physical device at all? He could just put them all on a "unusual high mountain" like Satan did to Jesus or even just China, which has a continuous written history through the flood time or just wiped the people out without all the rain (which a mass flood can't be found in the geological records)

Going to see my abusive jw mother tomorrow
by Simonsez inmy me mother and i do not see eye to eye to say the least.
my childhood was fraught with her abusive behavior.
alas.she is old now and though i have not spoken to her in a year she called the other day and wanted to see me.
-
Anony Mous
Sorry to hear.
As far as visiting her: I won't visit my abusive stepfather, even though he raised me, I haven't seen him in nearly a decade. It's better that way for me. If you want to visit her and say goodbye, I understand, but is it worth your emotional investment?
As far as telling her about your brother: Is it worth the trouble? Are you expecting some huge sum yourself if she dies? What is the goal of telling her, you know she won't believe an unbeliever over a fellow Witness, regardless of your proof.

Well, when the government tells you to party, it's time to party, virus or not. We all know China's News Network has been lying about Chinese death. They dropped from a few thousand to zero in a week time, then 'adjusted' the numbers as too many people were dying statistically speaking, after that, dead silence from any official sources, including the WHO.
If the number of funeral urns distributed and the period over which cremation services operated at full capacity operation up to March 23, 2020, are considered, the estimate of the total deaths up to this date reaches 36,000. Even if it followed the best death statistics in the rest of the world, we are probably looking at least 100k-0.5M dead Chinese by now, at least one source says 136k excess deaths in China this year.

The nice things about nuclear weapons is that they are too powerful to use. Throughout the chain of commands in any country no chain of people is nuts enough to believe that anyone would ever attack first. Even the 'close calls' we've had thus far, someone, somewhere in Soviet Russia, the US, Pakistan, India, France, UK, ... has always had the wherewithal to think through the malfunction.
On the other hand, having them has stopped World War 2, kept the Cold War cold, stopped World War 3 from happening. Things are very, very peaceful compared with just 100 years ago.
The scarcity due to COVID-19 was largely man-made, but nobody has died because they couldn't get food, that's a thing relegated to the past even in a massive pandemic, just 50 years ago, people would be STARVING if we did such an exercise, nobody starved because COVID-19. Sure it's sad that some people die, but many more people will have died from preventable diseases than from COVID-19.

What Happened to VP Pence? He Was Put in Charge of the COVID Thing by Trump But Disappeared. Is He in His Basement Too?
by RubaDub inwhat happened to him?
he was supposed to be the "covid-19 czar".
trump made a big deal about appointing him to manage the whole process but after about a week, he disappeared.

Pence was just on TV, he's been touring on the re-election campaign "Faith in America".
Obviously the MSM isn't going to report on this, Pence makes too much sense, he's very rational, very well and soft spoken, he makes indisputable arguments and puts reporters in their place, and this goes against the narrative that the Trump administration is a bunch of lunatics.
